You can have a natural birth or undergo a c-section if you decide with your midwife.
You can call us as soon as you know you are pregnant.
Our midwives provide full service in prenatal, birth and postpartum care. We guide you during pregnancy, help you and spend time with you when you are in labor, and also help you with breastfeeding after you deliver your baby. We visit you at your home in the first week of postpartum to let you rest and recover in early period after your delivery.

We provide complete care during pregnancy, including regular visits, diagnostic tests, routine blood work, and emotional support. You can call a midwife as soon as you know you are pregnant to request care; you do not need a referral from a doctor.

Midwives have total authority to order your test results, prescribe any medications you may need and even admit you to the hospital if you choose to have your baby in a hospital. Of course, if complications should arise your family doctor will be notified by your midwife.

The women who have chosen us are those who have low-risk pregnancies. Midwives provide care to the mother and the baby up to six weeks after birth. We will provide the best personal to ensure that we meet your needs. Midwives take the time to inform you and answer all questions so that you can make the best decision possible for you and your baby. We proudly take care of mothers from all over this region, including Port Coquitlam, Maple Ridge, New Westminster, and their surrounding communities. Our midwives make sure you receive nothing but the highest level of care possible. You will get to know the midwife attending your labor and childbirth.
At New Horizon Midwifery of Port Moody, BC, we understand the concerns of pregnant women looking for a natural birth and breastfeeding. If your pregnancy is considered low-risk, you have the choice of having your baby at home or in the hospital of your choice. When you have a midwife, you don’t need a physician unless you develop complications. Breastfeeding
We visit you and your newborn in your own home in the first week after birth. We continue to provide care to you and your newborn for at least six weeks after birth.
Home or Water Birth, Hospital Birth
We provide care to people in their birth setting of choice. You can plan to give birth at home, in a hospital or at a birth centre, depending on what facilities are available in your area.
