New Horizon Midwifery

“When a woman births, not only is a baby being born but so is a mother. How we treat her will affect how she feels about herself as a mother and as a parent.
Be gentle. Be kind. Listen.”

― Ruth Ehrhardt

Why every pregnant woman needs a midwife?

Midwifery is covered by the Medical Services Plan in BC.
Midwifery care is an integral part of the BC health care system. When you decide to have a midwife it means your midwife is working alongside physicians, obstetricians, pediatricians, psychiatrists, nutritionists, and many others to provide the best care for pregnant people and their babies in our province. We follow BC. Prenatal Health Program and it means Midwives offer the same tests and procedures as doctors do in BC.
Midwives are experts in normal birth.
Midwives receive extensive training as primary health care providers.
Delivery care must have several characteristics included but not limited to Communication, Courage, Commitment and continue. This process aims to maintain the health of the mothers and her baby.
